As a pastor, one of the great challenges to me as a pastor is that people's loyalty and allegiance seems to be to their political ideology of choice. I think whenever the church plays chaplain to political id ology, there's a right version of this that we're very familiar with right now,. There's also a left version of this which radically compromises the church's witness. It turns people off to the beauty of christ and the beauty of the gospel.
