Ames and Watson's Early Life

Watson is a co-founder of IBM he essentially runs it because IBM is basically a one person company. Watson was not born with any skills but that didn't stop him from being able to create and run a wonderful business. He left school early so he winds up looking for work and he gets job keeping the books at a general store this is an 1891 picture. His first sales jobs after the the job at the general store were selling sewing machines in the back of a wagon. The depression of 1873 to 1879 kept the family struggling all through Watson's youth as his father combined farming and lumbering  but fell victim to clam to bad luck, lack of business savvy.
