Dr. Bose and his team decided to conduct research in the field of sound reproduction. They recorded the orchestra with microphones placed on either side of the head of a mannequin sitting in the audience. When playing the recording back for the conductor, he was amazed. It sounded like a regular old set of speakers from that era.
