The Connection Between Falling Prices and Economic Hard Times

An article in the american economic review that i cited in my two thousand nine book, melt down. They found that there is basically no connection whatever between periods of falling prices and bad economic activity. So as an empirical matter, the connection between falling prices and economic hard times simply does not exist. Anyone just saying that as an off hand remark is uninformed.
