Is the FBI a Monolith?

I think most FBI agents go in with very good intentions and for all the right reasons. But I think ultimately they then, as many people do, find themselves in situations where they have to make cases. There is a bit of a delusion that happens in thinking that they are keeping America safe by getting these people off of the street because they've espoused violence. It gets at this conflict between going back to the early days after 9-11,. This conflict between the FBI as a law enforcement agency and the FBI as an intelligence agency.
