Preparing to Meet Esau

Jacob prepares to meet his brother Esau, whom he had previously cheated and who had threatened to kill him. Jacob wants to disclose some of his wealth to Esau as a gesture of goodwill, but he is concerned about Esau's intentions since he learns that Esau is coming with a group of 400 men. Jacob is greatly afraid and distressed, but he takes prudent precautions by dividing his people, flocks, herds, and camels into two camps, just in case of an attack.
