The Perfect Tense and the Linear Time

Archaeologists who think with a linear notion of time tend to regard their objects they encounter in the perfect tense. This expresses an event whose consequence is endured yet it's still a past event. So physically, for example, you can have bronze age walls at Mysini that are part of a polis in the archaic period and several hundred years later. Those through the extension of the wall, you still have these folds and pleats between these various kind of times. It's something that comes out of my longstanding appreciation of Sarah.
