The Importance of Curiosity in Human Behavior

In humans, a little part of our hippocampus called the dentate gyrus appears to be implicated as the big curiosity region. It accepts dopamine, right? Is a form of payment? Yes. And so we get flooded with dopamine just like we would when we eat, get a reward for, yeah, like a big fat steak or a big vegan crunch ball. So curiosity is reinforced through those reward centers.
