You have to start weaning yourself off being the source of their emotional regulation. A great way to manage their emotions outside of your relationship is actually therapy. The biggest mistake that I see a lot of people who have relationships with BPD make is that they hate the lows. So if there's something super amazing that you're all about to engage in, you need the same amount of restraint as them.
