The Relationship Between Protein Structure and Function
The first protein I studied, it's called kinesin. It actually takes eight nanometer steps, right? We built a lot of really complicated machines with microscopes and lasers that allowed us to visualize single proteins as they walked. And so, you know, those two ideas, I guess, the idea that proteins are these molecular machines that do work in your cell is very exciting.
