A Working Definition of Literature

i will often do when i get to teach that class is i will use this definition of literature from leland riken. He's a professor who taught at wheaton college and he's evangelical. And here it is, a working definition of literature is that it is an interpretive presentation of experience in an artistic form. So for example, if you read in the old testament, and it gives you and where the ten commandments are listed, i would say maybe that's nota literatureitn exactly. But  the story of moses going up the mountain and having tha interaction with jehovah and receiving the ten commandments, that is literary. It's the story of his experience.
