Vitalism is a bad or an easy pejorative that seems to come out of a little bit of resentment but I'm just projecting here on others who knows why the reasons different various reasons for rejecting him obviously would be individual in each case. Bergson's text is much better than anything Foucault wrote which seems bizarre because like Foucault is writing in the 70s you know so much later and it was interested in some of the problems But he gives most things pretty fair play right like even stuff he doesn't like he doesn't just like throw it at the window without giving footnotes and references, going through arguments and why he thinks it doesn't work.
