What Is Salicylic Acid?
Salison is just a specific derivative of the broader I guess the willow bark. So if I were to take some bark and just start chewing on it I'm taking Salison and then it turns into aspirin basically. No not yet. So Salison turns into salicylic acid. Okay. Gotcha. And just remind me why that would be the case. Well because aspirin or salicylic Acid is Cox 1 specific in regards to its inhibition of prostaglandins, which are important for maintaining gut integrity. If you stop this no more mucus, no more bicarbonate and all you're left with is the acid to play around and wreak havoc to the walls
