Stevenson and the Dog Sled Team on the Arctic Drift
The crew of a ship that was encased in ice off the coast of Alaska and the Yukon were prepared to be there for maybe two years. A massive storm broke up the ice all around the little island is on, so he waits it out. They build like this 15 foot driftwood observation tower where he's looking dude, where's my ship? He seems to just kind of write the whole thing off and bails. But as far as the carlotte goes, he pretty much just puts it out of his mind.
