Yosemite Valley in the Winter

Winter in Yosemite is very grim. As the sun gets lower in the sky, it no longer crests the rim of the valley. So big swaths of Yosemite Valley just don't get sun at all in the winter. If they get wet, you know, it rains or it snows. Big chunks of Yosemite Valley are just wet and cold for the whole rest of the winter. Like they're not going to see sunshine again until April.
