Nitu: I defend those hierarchies and those standards on the basis of natural right as i learned it from strauss and his students. And that is a rational, sensible foundation for those distinctions. On the other hand, this is my biggest problem. Least in my reading, he rejects that foundation and basis as inevitably leading to the levelling that he decries around him. It just comes down to therefore, an assertion on his part without a foundation. He doesn't come up with anything else to justify his,. to my mind, timate difference between better and worse, base and high and so on.
