The Importance of Listening to Your Father
Lita didn't know about her father's childhood growing up under segregation in the deep south. She came away with an overarching sense that she and the world had misunderstood her father. The intention was to come back to it when she felt ready, but that was going to take a long time. Lita moved overseas for a while with her husband and children. And it wasn't until she was back in the US five years later that she finally picked up the notes again.
