How Did Rhythm Originate in Our History?

Theresa Rymondi from Turin University and her team have been scaring the animal kingdom. They've focused in on this monkey and its ability to synchronise, or not, when duetting. How does a scientist measure rhythm? Rhythm is the temporal structure of a signal so signals are often composed on many subunits that can be like notes in a song. And what we do is to measure the intervals that separate notes to each other and to see whether the intervals respect a certain regular structure or not.
