The Class Dynamics of Over Socialization
There's also an interesting kind of class dynamic here in that while, like you said, a majority of homes now have two parents needing to work. The lower income parents will actually often just leave their children to their own devices or have older children care for the younger children. And it suggests the same sort of dysregulated relationship to the kind of wider social setting.
