The film co-op a Faulkner quote for the beginning of this movie. The two directors, they've talked about how some of the shots at dusk in this movie were directly lifted from Gone with the Wind. They said it wasn't easy to track down the camera lenses and actually use those as a way of kind of just like spitting on the grave of everything that Gone with the Winds represented culturally.
