The French ambassador in Warsaw was very dependent on information forwarded by Polish army headquarters. He would try to keep abreast of not just what was happening, but whether or not what the Germans were saying was actually correct and accurate. The urgency of communication would increase such that telephones began to be used for some communications. And then the war started and things got very confused.
