I think that partially because of the influence, of recent enlightenment thought in Europe, we tend to think of success as something you achieve through striving. But there are important goals in life that can't be attained through direct striving. So things like happiness, trust, love, creativity, crucially. Trying to go from 80B, really doubling down when you're not doing well and pushing forward is actually completely counterproductive on many occasions.
