His brother dean had died in an airplane crash which fokner felt terrible about because he'd encouraged dean to take up flying um uh so he so fokner took basically took over financial responsibility for his brother's brother dean's kids. He eventually when fokner's dad would die he would take overfinancial responsibility for his mother who would live almost to the end
