Building Relationships Between the Base Ten Blocks

We got a message from caty, who's one of our journey members. She congratulated us on our hundred episode where we talked about place value. When using base tin blocks, we begin by asking to day, what's the value of the small cube? And then once we knew that, we could identify thevalue of the rod flat large cube for our work. But she said, i tried not attaching the name ten to the rod in hopes that the kids would know it didn't always represent a ten.
