i feel like as long as it counts as something you would like to do in your free tog, that yu were getting paid or not, i guess maybe he might not even define it that way. He's talking about 19 35 europe, where a lot of people have been and are working in factories,. assemblyng cars or assembly lines. There was formerly a capacity for light heartedness and play, which has been, to some extent, inhibited by the cult of efficiency. The modern man thinks that everything ought to be done for the sake of something else, and never for its own sake. In so far as this is true in the modern world, it is a condemnation

In this episode of Made You Think, we read through “In Praise of Idleness” by Bertrand Russell and discussed some of its main ideas. This episode was fun since we were able to read the whole essay throughout the show, stopping and starting as topics caught our interest.
