The Bechdel Test
The Bechdel Test started to blow up in the early 2000s as feminist film students picked it up. "It's quite extraordinary actually how many movies don't pass this test," says director Judd Apatow. There can be movies that completely fail the Bectal test that are great feminist movies or at least have a feminist perspective, he adds.
