The Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota
The U.S. government has offered large sums of money to help pay for this carving, but it was refused by these Native Americans. Family members of Crazy Horse claim to have never given their consent to build such a memorial in the Sacred Hills. This is an area that you cannot carve in. It's the burial grounds of relatives. One of Crazy Horse's relatives called it a, quote, desecration of our Indian culture.
