Solar and Wind - Is the Spot Price a Good Price?

At the moment, we get these times where we're getting more than 50% of our supply from wind and solar. They're supposed to be cheap, but we just don't see that reflected in the prices. Even if you only have 10 megawatts of something which is charging at or near the market cap, that flows through to the whole market. You can't have the price set at short-short-run marginal cost all the time. That's zero for solar and wind. But that's what the solar people do. They do long-term PPA.
