New Rules for Smartphone Makers to Remove Preinstalled Apps

The Indian IT Ministry is considering new rules that would require smartphone makers to let users remove pre-installed apps. The rules might also require phone makers to submit major OS updates for government screening before being shipped. A California State Appeals court reversed a lower court ruling that Proposition 22 was unconstitutional.
