A conformist is a member of society that to Bergson has fallen asleep at the wheel. They accept whatever narrative is thrown their way and like it because it's easy. If everybody blindly committed to some role they just fell into one day, then we wouldn't have enough resistance against the current dominant narrative. A separatist is somebody who goes against the glue that holds society together in such a level that if left unchecked might actually do some harm.
