Carotonoids and Flavenids

In the fall, chlorophyl production slows down because plants don't have all the warm temperature and sunlight they need to produce chlorophyll. The color of other pigments that have been in the leaves starts to fade away. Carotonoids come in and act as a helper and can absorb the rest of that light. In case the plant isn't getting enough sun, it can utilize the sunlight that's hitting the leaf more efficiently.
