The Dissolution of Monasteries
The dissolution is very kind of male. The smaller monasteries were dissolved first. That hit nunneries much more than it did the monasteries for men. There weren't enough large nunneries for the women to find position in. Henry V and Henry VI both dissolved a number of monasteries. Cardinal Wozi had dissolved 29 or 30 monasteries in the late 1520s.
