The Middleings of Democracies
I was quite intrigued by one of the tables where you look at the growth miracles and disasters in the period 1990 to 2016. What I liked there was also this kind of inconclusiveness that some of the highest growers are typically non democratic. So, so you have these democracies that start out relatively poor and grow quite fast but there is this tendency for autocracies to dominate both among the top performers. The top performers of one decade can often be the bottom performers of the growth disasters in the following decade. That's been a persistent finding from going back to back several decades.
