General Powell - A Memoir

General powell was a tremendous public servant, a military officer. When i came in quite unexpectedly to washington as national securaty adviser, he called me up and said, how can i help you? And he said, well, you know, i've been pretty critical of this new president, so you're better off coming to my house for lunch. I think we could honor his memory byy making good on his charge to us. Finally, on the pal doctrine, of course, cam pas was affected by a lost war in viadame. They effected a real renaissance in our army. But it's important to recognize that we have not chosen wars already.
