Since i was three years old my father said allowances are for children and families in which people don't trust each other but i trust you guys so you can take out as much money as you want. In Israel the status of Holocaust survivors is a very clear and almost rigid one it's like a war veteran or somebody you know. My mother refused to go when they asked her to speak at Memorial Day ceremonies because she didn't work in the Holocaust. She totally changed even the idea of what does it mean to be a Holocaust survivor, says Shmuley Boteach.
