Safety in design practitioners are experienced in concepts of layers of protection and independent protection layers. It surprised me that we were seeing this type of information on safty design output documents. A lot of these messages to the future were either a message for someone in a future design stage, some message or instruction to a contractor,. Sometimes it was a reminder to follow the law or follow rules. And then there are also hidden messages where, you know, regularly, and in safety risk registers, you'll have a column called existing controls. No one will ever go looking for it, ecause t know they have no reason to.
