In the early and middle, late 20th century a direction that has often been seen as a misdirection was driven by the concern to make the doctrine of the Trinity applicable and relevant. What can we learn from for instance it's placed within scripture? Well, so the applicable thing is really interesting because students are always asking me: Why does it matter? And my first answer is always knowing God as he is matters in and of itself like that is an end in itself. I don't need to give you a practical reason how that makes you a better nurse if you believe the Trinity, you know, like that's just Christian confession.
