How Long Do I Have to Wait Before I Can Rent a Business Property?

Two years is a really good timeframe to be renting it. You do need to show that your intent of buying the new property was to rent it, right? And then remember, as long as you actually live in it for two out of five years, then anything other than the depreciation you've taken should be tax-free up to that 250,000, 500,000 exclusion for single versus or married individuals. So, you actually can have your cake and eat it too.
