The Biden Administration's Response to the Taliban Deal in Afghanistan

The Biden administration's response to some of that is that the reason there weren't any casualties for a year or so is at least in part due to this deal that had been struck by the Trump administration with the Taliban. I'm not sure that we're carried out in Afghanistan by the Taliban directed at, as you mentioned, like the people, the citizenry, but also the military forces there. There'd been just this consistent back and forth over time. And the only reason it wasn't much worse was because there'd been massive troop surges in the past under a couple of different administrations.
