The Different Approaches to Philosophy
I was wondering if you could help situate Eastern philosophical methods in that. I don't think I'd call them different approaches, but there are certainly different ways of expressing things. With Chinese philosophy, the arguments are often less explicit. Arguments are often made by analogy, and often the conclusion of the argument is not actually spelled out. So, it's easier to miss the conclusions in Chinese philosophy. Could you give an example of an argument made in Indian philosophy or an issue that they tackle? In Indian philosophy we have a tradition of classic Indian logic and Indian epistemology.
