The Man for All Seasons
It's a 20th century play about Thomas Moore as he comes into conflict with Henry VIII over pressure to publicly endorse his divorce and remarriage. And the for a stage play there is still so much subtle and effective poetic imagery and metaphor that is easy to pick up on a single viewing. It's really just the story of a a virtuous man who has a has a distinct self and stands for something in a time when it's difficult and unpopular and rare for people to do so. I don't know how he does it but it's a he is a light but powerful touch.
