The Relationship Between Society and Society

Althusius wrote this work in the early seventeenth century called politica. According to elthusius, society is not made up of just a bunch of scattered, isolated, atomized individuals. Society is we might think of it as a series of levels. It's a series of little societies whose symbeotic relation gives us our society at large. The household, for althusius, is the fundamental political unit. A group of households can create a village, and then a group of villages can create a province. You notice there are these small, but ever larger groupings of people, and that society is made up of these.
