The quakers were some of the last people to use thou. They believed in plain speaking, that no one was better than anyone else. So they refused to refer to anyone as you or your honor. This really ticked off judges who felt like they deserved respect and weren't getting it from the quakers. It caused them legal problems when they would go to court.
