I think the symbolic values society rewards matters a great deal, and more than i thought. And if you have a universal basic income, it's like your putting up a sign for immigrants, this is the kind of country we are. We're doomed to be the somewhat screwed up, un us, not quite happy, may be more mentally ill country.
