The Secret of the Atapuerca Mountains

The site lies within the atapuerca mountains and was discovered following the c uction of a railway line in the early twentieth century. It is reported that there have been several thousand human fossils discovered, including some almost complete skulls. The one thing that can be said about these skulls is that they are believed to belong to an early form of neandatole. So could this represent one of the first genuine neandertoles sits the emergence of the neander we now venture over to italy for the first time?
