But the second rocket failed, the launcher wasn't going high enough or fast enough to reach the Earth's orbit. Virgin Orbit, a satellite launch service owned by Richard Branson's Virgin Group, failing to secure funding,. ceasing operations, laying off almost all of its workforce. And in early April, Virgin Orbit filed for bankruptcy.
