What Is the Moral Importance of Reason?
For humans, reason is a naturalistic capacity. It's our distinctive and our primary capacity for surviving as human beings. Other people are rational individuals with the same general needs and capacities. But to the extent that we each respect each individual's freedom in the form of individual rights, the social consequence is going to be that we'll each be able to go forth peacefully being productive.
