A well known lager spent so much energy talking about how your entire emergency fund should be in gold, should absolutely be in gold. He's retired now, but william up to grave wrote a wonderful piece where he said that gold is eight times more volatile than the stock market. Tutottoto: If you think the stock market is volatile, putting your money in gold, of course, is even more of a roller coaster.
