Pompey vs Herculanium - What Is the Difference?

Pompey and herculanium are like two eyes to give you some real depth on roman society, says Wert. There's a political distinction between the types of political grapidi in pompeii that you don't find an herculaneum - what that may or may not mean. You see many more examples of a much higher literary style of griffiti and pompey than you do in herculanum. And so it's not true just to say these are all the educated, cultivated, literate people who live in herculianum. That's a specious distinction at best, if not just outright wrong one.
