Local Occupational Groups and Organizational Goals

This chapter challenges the assumption that autonomy leads to a loss of sight of the overall big picture by discussing how local occupational groups can prioritize organizational goals and make decisions based on their understanding of the work process. It also emphasizes the importance of countermeasures to avoid problems caused by the loss of cohesion and isolation in bureaucratic organizations.
